About the Role
Join WSP’s expanding Building Structures team as a Senior Engineer responsible for the technical design and delivery of schemes from inception through to handover. You will develop innovative and sustainable designs for a wide range of challenging UK and international multi-disciplinary projects including high-rise buildings, stadia/arenas, urban regeneration, healthcare, commercial and mixed-use developments, major refurbishments, and data centres. You will participate in tender bids and business development opportunities, agree fees, and contribute to project management and commercial positions. This role offers the chance to exercise independent judgement, resolve technical issues, and access a world-leading network of industry experts. You will mentor and develop junior team members working towards Chartership and select a mentor to guide your career. You will lead the design process, support less experienced colleagues through technical review and advice, manage risks and technical issues efficiently, and build strong relationships with internal disciplines, external consultants, stakeholders, and clients. You will provide sustainable structural solutions from concept through detailed design and construction, including specialist advice on sustainable design, net zero carbon, MMC, and DfMA. Reporting to a senior team member, you will work on some of the most exciting and high-profile multi-disciplinary development projects across the UK and internationally, serving a broad client base across private and public sectors.

Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND qualification in a relevant discipline
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (IStructE or ICE)
- Solid experience in structural engineering design across all materials
- Detailed working knowledge of national codes and standards
- Proven understanding of the design process including brief/scope documents, design concepts, and producing calculations
- Experience with structural design software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, Tekla Structural Designer, and Tedds
- Experience with Revit, Rhino, and Grasshopper is beneficial
- Experience working with clients and contractors with diverse objectives to achieve technical solutions

Qualifications
