About the Role
Join the Shared Finance Service supporting both Sutton and Kingston councils, delivering financial business partnering to front line service areas. You will provide financial advice and support to budget managers, helping them manage budgets effectively in a challenging financial environment. The role involves working on revenue and capital budgets, facilitating sound financial management, and delivering clear oral and written advice. You will build collaborative relationships across services to support financial analysis that underpins business improvement and operational decisions. Responsibilities include budget setting, monitoring, account closing, processing virements and journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and contributing to financial risk management to protect the Council’s financial health. This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly and contribute to ambitious projects such as the London Cancer Hub and major housing regeneration programmes, while supporting the Councils’ commitments to tackling the climate emergency.

Experience
Proven experience in financial business partnering or financial management roles supporting budget managers in a complex environment is desirable. Experience working with both revenue and capital budgets and delivering financial advice is advantageous.

Qualifications
