About the Service and Team
- Allocating temporary accommodation in line with legislation and suitability requirements
- Procuring accommodation from landlords, hotels, and agents within agreed cost limits
- Inspecting properties, managing voids, and ensuring health & safety compliance
- Supporting households to move into longer-term housing options, including private rented accommodation
- Liaising with landlords and providers to resolve repairs and tenancy issues
- Conducting viewings and property visits (including lone working)
- Preparing decision letters and maintaining accurate case records
- Working to service targets and statutory obligations under the Housing Act 1996
About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a Property Management Officer who:
- Has knowledge of homelessness legislation (Housing Act 1996 Parts VI & VII) and welfare benefits
- Can manage a varied caseload and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Is confident working with vulnerable households and managing challenging situations
- Demonstrates strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Can build effective relationships with landlords, agents, and partner organisations
- Has good IT skills and attention to detail in record keeping
- Is committed to delivering high quality, customer-focused services
