About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide expert legal support to the FTSE Russell and Risk Intelligence divisions within London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). This London-based role is pivotal in enabling product innovation, managing legal and regulatory risk, and supporting commercial execution across global markets, with a particular focus on the Risk Intelligence business. As a trusted partner to business stakeholders, you will manage matters end-to-end with autonomy and collaborate closely within the Legal & Compliance team. Reporting to the Legal Director, Risk Intelligence, you will advise on legal and regulatory implications of emerging technologies, data acquisition strategies, AI-enabled products, and product roadmap decisions, balancing innovation with compliance. You will negotiate and manage high-value agreements including data, intellectual property, and outsourcing contracts, and support new product development, regulatory change, market expansion, and strategic initiatives. You will also represent Legal at Risk Intelligence governance forums, contribute to group-wide projects, and maintain strong relationships with legal service providers to ensure alignment with business objectives. Experience
Qualified lawyer with significant post-qualification experience in commercial, regulatory, and financial services law. Proven track record as legal counsel managing strategic initiatives and complex legal matters. Experience advising on emerging technologies, AI, and data-related legal issues is highly desirable.
