Location
Based in Catford in a well connected area near Bellingham, Catford, and Catford Bridge stations, with nearby bus stops. Please be aware there is no step free access at this location and some of our other sites.

Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota which includes 3 to 4 night shifts a week between 20:00 - 08:30. Some flexibility around these hours may be required as per service needs.

£28,000 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker to cover the night shift in our Lewisham-based service, which offers specialist intensive rehabilitation for people requiring enhanced interventions beyond commissioned community services. Residents live with us for up to nine months after discharge from acute wards to avoid inpatient rehabilitation admissions. Our aim is to support residents to step down into less supported accommodation, promoting independence and community integration.

As the main point of contact during the night shift, you will lead by example, providing specialist support to empower both the team and residents. Your role includes ensuring resident safety, wellbeing, and progress towards recovery goals. You will help create and maintain a safe, empowering environment, build relationships with relevant partners, and develop support plans. You will plan and hold activities, deliver one-to-one therapeutic support, act as a key worker, and assist residents in developing skills and confidence to manage their mental health and wellbeing.

You will contribute to support plans, reflective learning, and team development while maintaining a safe and positive living environment through effective housing management and day-to-day support. Night staff are expected to remain awake, alert, and actively engaged throughout their shift; sleeping on duty is strictly prohibited and may lead to disciplinary action including dismissal.

Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as lead point of contact for the night shift, supporting team and residents with specific needs and queries
- Supporting night shifts across two residential properties
- Providing tailored, person-centred support promoting recovery, rehabilitation, and independence
- Helping residents build skills and confidence to move towards independent or supported living
- Monitoring residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular checks, and responding to incidents or emergencies
- Fostering a positive, empowering, and recovery-focused environment
- Maintaining accurate records and handovers to ensure effective communication between shifts
- Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment that promotes positive engagement and progress
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and management to deliver high quality care
- Remaining alert and monitoring CCTV throughout the shift
- Completing routine night duties and tasks handed over by day shift or service manager
- Key worker duties including inductions, support plans, reviews, risk assessments, welfare checks, record updates, managing access and unauthorized visitors, following missing person protocols, and escalating issues when needed
- Health & Safety duties including property checks, reporting maintenance issues, keeping communal areas clean and safe, and completing required reports (AINMs and others)

Experience
- Previous experience working with people with multiple complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, alcohol, and challenging behaviours
- Experience creating co-produced support plans, key working, care planning, and providing appropriate interventions
- Experience in a similar senior role, sharing skills and knowledge to support others
- Ability to act as a point of contact and specialist within the service to support team and residents with queries and challenges
- IT proficiency including ability to learn new software and basic Microsoft applications
- Understanding of housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or experience in mental health rehabilitation or related fields are desirable but not explicitly stated. A commitment to ongoing training and development is expected.
