We are seeking to recruit a C&I Engineer to join our Low Carbon Team helping to contribute towards its continuing success. Working as part of a large engineering group, the role requires the candidate to lead a team of electrical, instrumentation and control engineers in the development of designs on a wide range of Energy projects, including energy from waste plants, industrial facilities and carbon capture schemes. The UK Low Carbon team provides services to our clients and their projects from initial inception through development and construction to operation and decommissioning, supporting clients over the entire lifecycle of a project. Our team’s expertise covers all thermal generation and conversion technologies and includes novel, first of a kind concepts and other low or zero carbon technology such as future fuels and carbon capture, utilisation and storage. Working together with private developers, power utilities, government bodies, banks, lending agencies, contractors and OEMs, we safely deliver projects whilst meeting and exceeding client expectations.
Duties include leading and developing cost-effective, efficient and innovative solutions to complex problems to create practical designs. Delivering projects at various stages including Feasibility Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies, Value Engineering and Detailed Design. Preparation and development of C&I deliverables such as design basis philosophies, system specifications, architecture diagrams, datasheets, instrument schedules, instrument index, block diagrams, control room layouts, cable schedules, cable block diagrams and MTOs. Collaborating with equipment vendors on developing designs of equipment packages and participating in technical evaluations of vendor designs. Developing proposals and bids for the EC&I discipline and contributing to multi-disciplinary proposals. Providing technical leadership and governance throughout.
Experience
Degree in relevant Engineering subject supported with post graduate experience in C&I design. Proven understanding of the design process with working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts and experience producing calculations. Experience working with clients and contractors with diverse objectives to achieve technical solutions. Knowledge of design and construction of power and energy projects. Ability and desire to assume a lead role in the development of C&I deliverables.
About you
Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and a member of relevant Engineering Institute. Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and govern technical teams. Motivated to work on innovative low carbon energy projects and contribute to sustainable solutions. Collaborative and able to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Degree in relevant Engineering discipline. Chartered status or working towards it is essential.
