About the Role
The Projects Delivery Unit is seeking an experienced and energetic Senior Project Manager to join its project management team and support the Council’s development portfolio. You will manage projects in line with the Council’s approved Gateways, liaising with designers, contractors, stakeholders, and end-users as necessary. You will carry out Project Manager duties in accordance with the Council’s management processes, including the BILD reporting system and Project Gateways. Leading and developing delivery teams of in-house and external professionals, you will provide direction to consultants and contractors while acting as an ambassador for the Council’s Economy and Sustainability directorate, championing best practice.

Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation and Council policies, you will provide commercial support to the Quantity Surveying team and wider PDU regarding contract variations and procurement advice. This role offers broad experience across various Council directorates and requires working face to face in schools and settings, directly engaging with children and young people. The Council operates a hybrid working model.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience working in a Local Authority environment, particularly with schools, leisure, or similar sectors, is advantageous. Proven experience in project and programme management practices and tools is essential.

You must be highly self-motivated with a firm commercial grounding and the ability to manage a varied workload with competing priorities under pressure and challenging timetables.

You demonstrate adaptability and a flexible working style, capable of independently leading a wide range of tasks. You will work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, championing best practice and compliance.

You must have a command of spoken English sufficient to effectively perform the role, in line with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

The role involves working directly with children and young people, so a commitment to safeguarding and safer recruitment practices is essential. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.

You must have the right to work in the UK, with evidence requested at the interview stage.

Qualifications
Relevant project management qualifications or equivalent experience are expected to support your ability to deliver projects effectively within the Council’s frameworks.
