ABOUT THE JOB Social Work in Newham is underpinned by a culture of Systemic and Restorative practice with high quality relationships at the heart of our approach. Senior Social Workers in our MASH act quickly at the "front door" to make sure the most appropriate actions are taken to keep children and families safe. You will consult key partners and provide high quality, considered and informed social work decisions, dealing with incoming referral information in a quickly whilst confidently prioritising your workload, never losing focus from safety. Newham's MASH is fast paced; we have a large youth population and rank highly in terms of deprivation compared to other London Boroughs (with the expected challenges), so whilst resilience is essential for this post this is an excellent opportunity for social workers to learn and grow. We value our Senior Social Workers and understand the importance of supporting your learning, development, and wellbeing. We have a bespoke support offer through our very own clinical service; and our embedded systemic family psychotherapist assists with interventions where this may benefit families. SSWs in intervention may also be assisted by Practice Development Social Workers and a contextual safeguarding service that co-work on cases at the edge of care. We’ve worked hard to provide a supportive environment where systemic, restorative practice can flourish. ABOUT YOU We are looking for experienced Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub practitioners who have worked within at lease one local authority whose residents share a similar demographic as Newham. This is essential experience for a role within Newham's MASH, alongside a strong understanding of the challenges faced by residents of inner-city local authorities. You’re committed to equality, inclusion and helping us build a fairer Newham and passionate about keeping children and young people safe. Please note we will not be able to shortlist candidates without significant experience of practice within a Multi-Agency-Safeguarding-Hub.
