About the Role
We are looking for 2x Senior Social Workers with experience working with families and children who have suffered Domestic Abuse. The post holders will support the Social Care Teams in delivering good outcomes for children impacted by domestic abuse and assist in the delivery of the CYPS Domestic Abuse Delivery Model Action Plan. The Senior Social Workers will also mentor and coach our Children and Young Peoples Domestic Violence Advisors (CIDVA) to provide a range of opportunities for children affected by domestic abuse. Additionally, the post holders will be responsible for case holding the most complex domestic abuse cases.

Overall Purpose of the Job
1. Manage a caseload of complex cases, particularly domestic abuse, demonstrating initiative and applying high standards to deliver good outcomes for children impacted by domestic abuse.
2. Support the delivery of the CYPS Domestic Abuse Delivery Model Action Plan, embedding a trauma-responsive, systemic, relational, and anti-oppressive domestic abuse response within CYPS.
3. Supervise student social workers in the role of Practice Educator.
4. Provide mentoring, coaching, advice, and shadowing support to other practitioners in the team.
5. Lead positive interventions that prevent deterioration in health and wellbeing while safeguarding individuals at risk of abuse or neglect.
6. Contribute to the Newham Together Vision and support the implementation of the Strategic Improvement Plan for Children’s Services.
7. Deliver a restorative, relational approach to practice and supervision within the Newham Together Practice Framework.
8. Foster an organisational culture where social work can flourish through a restorative approach.
9. Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve service plans and priorities around domestic abuse.
10. Champion priorities to improve the lives of children, families, and care leavers.

Experience
Experience working with families and children affected by domestic abuse is essential.

Enthusiastic, committed, and able to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders. Strong mentoring and coaching skills are desirable.

Qualifications
A relevant social work qualification and registration with the appropriate professional body are required.
