What we’re looking for: Do you have experience of organising, supervising and leading other people either in a volunteering or professional role? Are you approachable with a can-do attitude? Are you able to participate in an on-call rota and work outside of normal working hours? If so, this role is perfect for you! Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker on a fixed-term basis for 6 months in Clacton-on-Sea. A bit about the role: As a Senior Support Worker, you will enable your team to support customers to live well, be independent and connected to their own community. You will support your Team Manager to plan, evaluate and deliver support and care in accordance with customer’s choices and wishes. You will have leadership responsibilities helping with all organisational tasks, quality audits, financial planning and liaising with stakeholders as required. You will be an excellent role model demonstrating at all times how best to support customers with kindness and compassion ensuring that they are assisted to make choices and be involved in all aspects of their life. You will work within agreed boundaries, following operational guidance, policies, and procedures. You will advocate for the people you support so that they are protected from harm and able to exercise their human rights. Some of the key results for the role include: To work with your manager to ensure that the service is delivered in a way that reflects the choice and wishes of customers regardless of their ability and communication needs. To be an effective role model demonstrating how best to include customers and supporting team members by coaching and mentoring them. To undertake audits and quality inspections as instructed by your manager. To facilitate person centred active support ensuring that the outcomes that matter to customers are identified and reflected in all support planning documents. To transfer professional advice into support plans and ensure the team understand what is required and how to provide the prescribed support. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check, a UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
