About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects within a global network of experts, contributing to meaningful work that shapes the future. In this role, you will manage Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) processes in accordance with sector standards such as EN 50126 for rail. Your responsibilities will include planning, analysing, verifying, and reporting RAM activities while leading the RAM team and managing sub-contractors. You will collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders and leverage your expertise to support bids, advisory services, and strategic decisions. Mentoring junior RAM engineers and acting as a technical focal point will be key aspects of your role. You will also promote innovation by implementing new techniques and tools to improve team efficiency and effectiveness. Representing WSP through active involvement with industry partners and professional institutions, including participation in councils, committees, working groups, and presenting at conferences, will be encouraged to drive technical excellence in RAMS.
Experience
- Proven experience delivering RAM activities and providing technical leadership to RAM and Safety Engineering teams.
- Experience supporting RAM and Safety engineering activities, including creating supporting arguments and evidence.
- Ability to liaise with regulatory and independent bodies.
- Extensive knowledge and application of the EN 50126 series and related standards.
- Experience in mainline or metro railway systems such as Signalling, Control Systems, Rolling Stock, Traction Power, Depots.
- Corporate membership with a relevant professional institution (e.g. SaRS, IET, IMechE) and professional registration as a Chartered Engineer or significant progression towards this goal.

Qualifications
- Degree in a technical engineering discipline or extensive relevant experience.
- RAM engineering experience, rail sector experience desirable but not essential.
Desirable
- Experience working on international projects.
- Experience across other sectors such as aviation, nuclear, oil & gas, or defence.
- Experience in both consultancy and supplier/client side environments.
