About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Service Charge Team as a Service Charge Specialist. This customer-focused role involves setting and managing financial forecasts for shared home owners, leaseholders, and rented properties. You will coordinate with the wider service charge team, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure service charge data is accurate, identifying and resolving any issues that arise. Key responsibilities include providing responsive frontline customer service for service charge enquiries, preparing support documentation for formal challenges including tribunal hearings, ensuring processes comply with policy and legislation, resolving complaints and disputes, managing financial forecasts and variances, providing advice on leasehold and service charge matters, and ensuring correct coding and allocation of charges.

Experience
- Experience and detailed understanding of Service Charges, Housing and/or Residential Property Management
- Knowledge of the legal and statutory framework around home ownership and service charges, including preparing legal cases for Courts and Tribunals
- Experience of working in a customer service environment
- Knowledge and/or experience of budget management and appropriate controls

- Ability to interpret financial information including monitoring budgets
- Ability to use a broad range of IT systems including advanced Excel skills
- Ability to interpret numerical data and complex documents, presenting analysis and conclusions clearly both verbally and in writing
- A coordinated, planned, and problem-solving approach to work and issues affecting service charge payers and colleagues
- Ability to explain complex or technical information to a variety of audiences, both internal and external
