Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of the Trust, delivers specialist services for children in Lambeth, Southwark and across south east England. The Children’s Community Directorate offers health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager within the Evelina London Clinical Group. We seek an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative manager with a strong operational background who is passionate about improving healthcare services. This role will influence and drive patient experience, safety, performance, and staff wellbeing, supporting ongoing transformation while providing clear leadership and ensuring delivery against performance goals.

You will work closely with service leads, clinicians, managers and other staff across the Trust to provide leadership and expert advice, helping deliver high standards of care and patient-centred services with a focus on continuous improvement. Flexibility and adaptability are essential to manage a dynamic and fast-paced service.

Main Duties
The Service Manager is accountable to the Deputy General Manager and Clinical Leads, responsible for day-to-day delivery of clinical services in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, and resource constraints. You will work closely with the Directorate Management Team to ensure high quality care and deliver service improvements. Key responsibilities include operational performance management, staff allocation and skill mix, resolving day-to-day issues, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, managing resources and facilities, supporting business planning, and contributing to Trust-wide initiatives and projects.

Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development

Desirable Qualifications
Understanding of lean methodology

Experience
Successful project and/or operational performance improvement
Management of complex budgets with evidence of people, financial, process and change management
Service design, development, implementation and change in a multiprofessional environment

Desirable Experience
Knowledge and understanding of the changing NHS environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
