About the Role
Harrow Council is seeking qualified, enthusiastic, and flexible tutors and assessors to deliver part-time courses independently. Tutors will plan and deliver accredited and non-accredited courses, create and adapt teaching resources, and support learners across a range of levels. The role offers excellent progression opportunities and the chance to work within a supportive and dynamic team.
Tutors will teach courses in ESOL & English (from pre-entry to Level 2) and Digital Skills (including Entry 3, Level 1 Essential Digital Skills, Functional Digital Skills, and Level 2 IT User Skills/ITQ). The role involves delivering blended learning and online classes via Google Classroom, carrying out assessments, maintaining learner records, and supporting employability skills development.

Experience
- Experience teaching accredited and non-accredited courses
- Experience assessing and marking portfolios, exams, and assignments
- Experience of Ofsted and other internal/external observations
- Experience teaching learners from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Experience implementing Safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values within course content
About You
- Adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the role
- Strong interpersonal, communication, listening, and presentation skills
- Excellent coaching and teaching abilities
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of online learning platforms, especially Google Classroom
- Proficient IT skills including advanced MS Office use
- Understanding of internal Quality Assurance processes
Qualifications
- Professional teaching qualification at Level 3 or 4
- Relevant qualifications in digital skills and/or other vocational sectors
- Ability to create and adapt teaching resources to meet learner needs
