Description
As a Skills Trainer you’ll be supporting apprentices and colleagues in their learning journey. This role involves planning, teaching, and delivering high-quality training sessions both in the classroom and the workplace. You will play a vital role in enhancing the learner experience by improving attendance, retention, and achievement while supporting their continuous progress and career development.
Your responsibilities will include developing a curriculum that meets industry standards, moderating assessments, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance learner engagement. You will also contribute to maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding policies, and ensuring that Peabody’s high-quality standards are met.
You’ll need to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week and the remaining time you’ll be able to work remotely.
In this role, you will work closely with the Academy Team to deliver engaging and innovative lessons tailored to individual learning needs. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing training plans, delivering one-to-one and small-group sessions, and ensuring learners are well-prepared for End Point Assessments and qualifications. Your focus will be on improving the overall learner experience by providing ongoing support, tracking progress, and maintaining high standards of teaching and assessment.

To be successful in this role, you should:
Be able to teach Multi Skills / Multi Trades (such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and decorating) to a Level 2 standard and effectively impart your knowledge to groups of learners.
Have experience in delivering lessons in different learning environments, setting high expectations for learners, and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Be committed to your own professional development, including safeguarding and Prevent training.
Have a teaching qualification or be willing to train as a teacher through an apprenticeship.
Have a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or a willingness to achieve it).
Experience teaching Multi Skills / Multi Trades or relevant vocational expertise is essential, along with strong teaching, learning, and assessment skills.
While knowledge of repairs and maintenance curricula, OFSTED standards, and quality improvement frameworks is desirable, we will support your development in these areas
