About the Role
Join the London Borough of Newham and help build a fairer community. We are a vibrant, dynamic, and culturally rich borough with a young population and limitless potential. Our social work practice flourishes in a challenging yet rewarding environment, underpinned by a commitment to inclusivity and diversity. We are dedicated to creating an equitable place for children and families to live, learn, and thrive through our 'Circles of Support' practice model, which centers on systemic and restorative approaches.

As a Social Worker in Children in Care, you will provide statutory services to children in our care, their families, and support networks. You will work restoratively, using systemic tools to ensure the happiness and safety of children while the Council acts as their corporate parent. This role offers a unique development opportunity, handling the majority of court work related to care proceedings with full support from senior colleagues, Practice Development Social Workers, a CP Chair service, and a Clinical Team of qualified Family Therapists.

We value your wellbeing and offer a better work/life balance through flexible and hybrid working options, a modern office environment, and clinical support to help you perform at your best.
