About the Role
Ealing is a vibrant borough with excellent transport links, a high rate of permanent staff, and a strong commitment to staff development through a wide range of training opportunities and a Career Progression scheme. The Children with Disabilities team is seeking a qualified, SWE registered Social Worker or Senior Social Worker to join a forward-thinking service that has been successful in developing and promoting innovative social care practice.

As a Social Worker in this team, you will manage caseloads of approximately 16-18 children, undertaking duties in line with the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation. Your responsibilities will include investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, instigating Child Protection procedures, supervising children subject to Child Protection Plans, and assessing and supervising children looked after by Ealing to ensure statutory duties are met.

You will prepare reports and statements for family courts, attend court hearings, design and implement care and protection plans, and provide innovative social work services with a high degree of professional autonomy. The role promotes the principle that children should remain with their families wherever possible and, where this is not feasible, to plan secure and permanent futures.

You will also contribute to a learning culture by sharing best practices, supporting students and colleagues through the practice educator framework, and engaging in learning and development activities. This role supports the Council’s vision for Children’s Services aligned with corporate objectives.
