About the Role
Support residents to live more independently, with compassion at the heart of your work. As a Social Worker in the Adult South Complex Team, you will work directly with people in Kensington and Chelsea who need support to live well and safely. From your first conversation to the long-term plans you help shape, you will build relationships that empower individuals, reduce risks, and make a lasting difference.
Each day brings variety and purpose. You will review referrals, prioritise cases, and plan visits, meeting residents in their homes and working alongside health and care professionals across the borough.
Your focus will be on assessing needs, creating person-centred care plans, and arranging the right services that enable choice, dignity, and independence. You will ensure every resident you support has a voice in decisions about their life.
Collaboration is key; you will work closely with NHS partners, voluntary sector teams, and other professionals to deliver joined-up care. You will contribute to safeguarding work, maintain clear records using digital systems, and stay current with legislation, local procedures, and best practice.
This is a supportive and team-based role. You will attend regular supervision and development sessions, share learning with colleagues, and help shape ongoing service improvements.
This role requires an Enhanced Adults and Children’s Barred List DBS check. Interviews will take place on the 2nd and 3rd September 2026.
You will be based in the borough for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you will be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.
At RBKC, we invest in our people, communities, and future. You will find a supportive culture, extensive training opportunities, and pathways for progression in a diverse and dynamic borough committed to helping you develop specialist skills and confidence to thrive.
Kensington and Chelsea is home to diverse communities, thriving businesses, and unique local places. Everything we do focuses on supporting residents, strengthening our approach, and creating a fairer borough. As a competent and caring Council, we take pride in delivering services with care and competence, listening to residents, acting with integrity, and working together to build a greener, safer, and fairer borough for all.
In this role, you will balance client-facing work with administrative tasks. Your day-to-day decisions and long-term planning will contribute to a fairer borough where residents feel heard, supported, and empowered to live their best lives.
