About the Role
Be an integral part of a team that's constantly pushing the envelope to enhance, build, and deliver top-notch technology products. As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Banking Platform (GBP), you will contribute to building the next generation core banking platform that operates at a global scale and supports hundreds of millions of accounts. The role involves developing cloud-native microservices, integrations, dashboards, production support tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will design, implement, and develop scalable, performant microservices using software engineering best practices. Responsibilities include writing secure, high-quality code and automated tests, producing architecture and design artifacts, proactively identifying and resolving hidden problems, managing deployments from testing to production, and collaborating with other engineering teams to ensure structured feature delivery.

You will also contribute to software engineering communities of practice, promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect, and leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity while validating outputs through peer review and automated testing.

Experience
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with applied experience
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in at least one major programming language: Go, Python, and/or Java
- Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform
- Experience developing automated tests as part of the development cycle
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
- Experience with any cloud provider
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity, secure handling, and resiliency

Qualifications
- Preferred knowledge of banking and finance
- Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes (CKE), and Terraform are advantageous
- Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
- Experience with client/server software architectures, networking, or microservice architectures
- Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry
- Experience with streaming architectures and tools like Kafka
