Our Back-End Engineering team is central to delivering a great banking experience to our customers. We seek individuals with a curious mindset who thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about new technology. Our teams focus on specific products and projects, including fraud prevention, investments, identity services, money transfers, debit and credit card payments, core banking, insurance products, reward campaigns, and call-centre innovations.
As a Software Engineer III, you will deliver end-to-end cloud-native microservice architecture applications using the latest technologies and industry best practices. You will design, estimate, and implement technical solutions primarily in Java/Kotlin, write comprehensive tests, and support products throughout their lifecycle including production and incident management. You will leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards. Additionally, you will contribute reusable patterns and learnings to enhance team effectiveness and apply knowledge of software development lifecycle tools to maximize automation value.

Experience
- Formal training or certification in Java programming concepts with advanced proficiency
- Recent hands-on professional experience as a back-end software engineer in an agile, dynamic, customer-facing environment
- Experience with JVM languages (Java/Scala/Kotlin), preferably Java 8+
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, web technologies, and relational databases
- Experience across all stages of the software development lifecycle including requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release, and support
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, inclusive, geographically distributed agile team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
