About the Role
Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Sous Chef to join their team working at our client site in Central London. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with the teams regarding food production management to ensure minimal wastage, maintenance of food levels, food quality, and brand standards. You will support and deputize the Head Chef in their absence, alongside managing the service counter and ensuring excellent customer service is provided throughout.

A day in the life of a Sous Chef
- Assist in the development and application of both Client and ARAMARK catering policy
- Provide innovative, fresh, seasonal, consistent, lively, and interesting variety of food relevant to customer needs and environment
- Ensure all food production is produced within established cost criteria for the catering unit
- Ensure top quality raw materials are provided by suppliers and used in dish preparation
- Check all deliveries on arrival for quantity and quality and ensure correct storage complying with statutory regulations
- Ensure all fridges and contents are labelled and dated daily
- Use correct chopping boards for the correct tasks
- Complete all menu planning and ordering
- Assist and ensure both Breakfast and Lunch services are set up and ready 15 minutes prior to opening times
- Supervise and support all services and special functions to operational standards
- Ensure food is available for service times, correctly portioned and garnished
- Assist and supervise food production
- Ensure service counters are replenished adequately and kept clean during service
- Complete, check, and train all Food Handlers in the completion of Mice En Place Lists, Hand-Over Sheets, and Order Sheets
Experience
- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment
About you
- Excellent team player and communicator
- Willingness to support and deputize the Head Chef
- Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and customer service
- DBS and security checks required
Qualifications
- Relevant culinary qualification
- Certificate in food safety or willingness to obtain via online e-learning
