About the Role
HTSI, the Financial Times’ multi-award-winning luxury lifestyle magazine, is seeking a Special Projects Editor. In this exciting role, you will work closely with the editor of HTSI, FTweekend, and the FT commercial team to develop and strategize all commercial projects, including live events, special supplements, licensing arrangements, and overall strategy. This is a rare opportunity to join a title known for its sharp journalism, imaginative storytelling, and distinctive visual style—a place where design, fashion, interiors, travel, and culture meet the authority of the Financial Times. You will be part of a globally recognised news organisation committed to delivering quality information and impartial journalism in a polarised world. The FT offers a warm, collaborative culture where curiosity thrives, ambitious thinking is rewarded, and your career can flourish with new skills and opportunities to create work that matters.

The use of AI
Original reporting, great writing, and intelligent commentary lie at the heart of FT journalism. FT editorial staff do not by default use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to write articles or create reader-facing content. AI may be used only in specific, pre-approved cases such as assisting data research for investigations. Applicants are expected to refrain from using AI in test submissions, ensuring all written materials genuinely reflect their own knowledge, skills, and experience. AI may be used solely as a tool for research and interview preparation. The use of AI throughout the application process is monitored to ensure fairness and transparency.

Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
We believe in the power of unique perspectives and want all voices in our organisation to be heard, respected, and valued. We are committed to creating a supportive workplace where employees can be themselves and operate to their full potential. We actively work to remove barriers, focusing on those faced by underrepresented groups.

What’s in it for you?
Our benefits vary by location but include generous annual leave, medical cover, inclusive parental leave packages, subsidised gym memberships, and opportunities to give back to the community. FT is a disability confident employer and Valuable 500 signatory. Reasonable adjustments can be made during the application process or interview to support accessibility.

Requirements

Experience
Several years of commissioning and editorial experience with a proven track record of executing high-level editorial and partner content. Excellent contacts within the luxury industry and experience working with brands.

About you
A clear communicator who is well organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple simultaneous and competing projects. Highly diplomatic with great visual ideas and an editor’s flair for storytelling. Passionate about launching new projects and driving them from concept to completion.

Qualifications
Not explicitly stated, but a strong editorial background and relevant industry experience are essential.
