About the Role
As an authorised pharmacist, you will be responsible for the provision of chemotherapy doses and the day-to-day management of the Chemotherapy Production and Dispensing Unit (CPDU). You will work collaboratively with staff within the unit as well as the wider pharmacy and clinical teams to ensure that service delivery meets the needs of our patients. You will ensure compliance with the chemotherapy quality management system in line with the Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services (QAAPS), national standards, and NHS guidance. Additionally, you will work closely with the Clinical Trials team to support chemotherapy-based clinical trials for GSTT and commercial sponsors, ensuring full preparation and clinical regulatory compliance throughout.
Experience
Proven experience in chemotherapy production pharmacy or a similar specialist pharmacy role is essential. Experience working within aseptic preparation services and knowledge of QAAPS standards is highly desirable.
About you
You will be a motivated and collaborative pharmacist with strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You should be able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care and safety. Experience in clinical trials pharmacy or working with clinical trial protocols is advantageous.
Qualifications
Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Relevant postgraduate qualifications or specialist training in chemotherapy pharmacy or aseptic services are preferred.
