About the Role
As a Convenience Store Manager at Sainsbury's, you will have full control over your shop and be an accountable leader who ensures we deliver on our purpose to make good food joyful, accessible and affordable for everyone, every day. You will lead a team of Customer and Trading Managers who run the shifts, while you plan and prepare for upcoming trading activity with a commercial mindset, anticipating issues from today up to six months ahead. Your role involves ensuring everything is safe and legal, managing daily operations, and adapting to retail’s evolving business initiatives and change programmes. This position carries significant responsibility but offers a highly rewarding experience.
You will be a hands-on leader, driving your team to deliver brilliant customer experiences and continuously improve the customer journey. Your leadership will empower your team to raise the bar every day, ensuring product availability, safety standards, and seamless store operations. Experience
Proven experience leading a fast-paced retail operation with accountability for delivering customer, financial and organisational outcomes. Experience managing employee relations cases including dismissals and confident in understanding and applying HR policies. Demonstrated ability to use data and insight to inform planning, improve performance, and enhance customer experience and KPIs.
