Description
Your typical day would start with a handover from one of our support colleagues before you undertake a welfare 'check in' with a customer who you are supporting. We want to support customers to thrive so updating their support plan or staying safe assessment are keys tasks. You would need to complete checks of customers flats/rooms to ensure there are no repairs, health and safety concerns or fire risks and then start planning a customer group activity on independent life skills. As Support Worker, you’ll be the face of Peabody and no one day is the same. You’ll be at the heart of your Peabody community, playing a crucial role supporting the practical needs and wellbeing of residents, with a particular focus on promoting their recovery and independent life skills. You’ll support residents to maximise their income, to access benefits and to budget to cover domestic bills and living expenses. You’ll actively work with residents in a person centred, recovery focused and trauma informed way. You’re a people person who is caring and compassionate. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with other teams and you’re first rate at building effective relationships with colleagues and partner agencies regarding safeguarding, welfare, and risk concerns. You’ll need to be able to work shifts at the supported housing scheme, 37.5 hours per week, including some weekends and bank holidays. Your role covers all aspects of housing management – everything from scheme and property inspections to identifying issues and capturing feedback to continuously improve our services and resident satisfaction. If you’re knowledgeable about best practices in supporting customers with mental health needs, and like us committed to helping people flourish we want to hear from you. To be a successful in this role, you’re: Experienced and knowledgeable of best practices in supporting a mental health client group or vulnerable adults including recovery and trauma informed approaches. Understand how to help vulnerable adults manage their tenancy/accommodation. Experienced in promoting recovery, independence and delivering a recovery/support plan. Able to demonstrate the right Peabody valves and empathy to work with a vulnerable client group. Proficient in written English.
