- Safeguarding adults whose circumstances make them vulnerable and protecting them from avoidable harm
Barnet Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The council operates stringent safer recruitment procedures including a range of checks such as biometric ID, right to work, qualification and registration checks, employment history references, DBS checks, credit checks, social media, sanctions and occupational health screening.
The council values diversity and promotes equality of opportunity in the workplace and in the services it delivers. Flexible working arrangements are embraced, including part-time, compressed hours, and hybrid working, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
