About the Role
St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School is a two form entry Catholic primary school for pupils aged 2-11 years. The school offers a friendly, welcoming, inclusive, caring and stimulating learning environment. It prides itself on a broad, balanced and creative curriculum designed to develop children’s skills as great learners.
We are seeking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the team for three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday), working from 08.30 to 15.45 daily (20.25 hours per week). This is a fixed term contract for one year initially, starting as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will work across all age phases from Nursery to Key Stage 2, supporting children’s learning and covering classes during teacher absences. The role involves working with special needs children on a one-to-one basis and running intervention groups. You will be part of a supportive team in a well-resourced environment within a positive Catholic community where children’s behaviour is exemplary and they are eager to learn.
Experience
Previous experience in a Level 3 Teaching Assistant role is required, including covering classes on an ad-hoc basis. Experience working with special needs children and running intervention groups is desirable.
About you
You will have a sound knowledge of how children learn and a variety of strategies to encourage learning. Sensitivity to the special needs of individual children and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. You should demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, and have excellent literacy and numeracy skills. Flexibility to work across all age phases (Nursery to KS2) and cover classes during teacher absence is required.
Qualifications
