About the Role
As School Business Manager at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, you will play a key role in managing the school's business and financial operations. You will oversee procurement processes, secure appropriate service contracts, licences and insurance, and manage facilities including premises, lettings, and liaising with external contractors. The role includes line management of school support staff and requires strong analytical skills for business and finance planning, including budget interpretation and development of administrative and financial procedures. You will work within a supportive, welcoming, and caring ethos based on Catholic values, alongside a dedicated team and supportive Governing body. The position offers extensive support and collaboration opportunities through Barnet local authority, Barnet schools, and the Diocese of Westminster, with access to further professional development.
Experience
Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM) or equivalent level of knowledge and experience is required for Grade I consideration. Proven knowledge of relevant statutory regulations, codes of practice and government policies including Ofsted, safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection. Experience managing procurement processes, contracts, licences, and insurance. Line management experience of school support staff. Experience in facilities management, including premises and lettings, is desirable.
About you
Proficient user of MS Office software and/or other in-house software. Strong analytical skills for business and finance planning. Ability to negotiate, manage and monitor licences, insurances and contracts effectively. A collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive and conscientious working environment.
Qualifications
Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM) or equivalent qualification is required for Grade I. Relevant experience and knowledge are essential for the role.
