About the Role
Help shape the future of homelessness services in Brent. Brent is a vibrant London borough known for its diversity and contrasts across economic, environmental, ethnic, and social aspects. The council is undergoing a significant transformation agenda to better meet community needs, making this an exciting time to join us.
As the Temporary Accommodation Specialist Project Manager, you will lead high-profile programmes aimed at improving outcomes for homeless households while reducing reliance on costly temporary accommodation. You will drive practical, fast-paced initiatives that help residents move into settled accommodation more quickly — from mobilising newly acquired homes to leading targeted move-on activity for households in high-cost placements.
This role is not a traditional back-office project position. You will work across operational services, data, housing supply, and strategic delivery — solving problems, influencing stakeholders, and making things happen on the ground.
You will lead key homelessness reduction and temporary accommodation transformation programmes, coordinating complex projects that improve resident outcomes, reduce costs, and strengthen pathways into long-term housing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading programmes to reduce the use and cost of temporary accommodation
- Supporting homeless households to move into suitable long-term housing faster
- Coordinating the mobilisation of newly acquired homes and ensuring properties are brought into use quickly
- Using data and insight to identify priority cases, track performance, and drive service improvements
- Collaborating closely with Housing Needs & Support, Property Services, Housing Management, landlords, and external partners
- Supporting innovative housing solutions, including private rented sector and supported accommodation initiatives
- Producing performance and savings reports for senior leaders and governance boards
This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence both operational delivery and strategic decision-making.
Join Brent and help shape innovative homelessness solutions that make a lasting difference for residents and communities.
