About the Role
An excellent opportunity to make a difference in Brent, a vibrant London borough known for its diversity and unique community. Brent Council is committed to reducing homelessness and rough sleeping, supported by funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government for Tenancy Sustainment posts. As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you will work with individuals who have experienced homelessness, providing person-centred support to help them sustain their tenancies and achieve their goals and aspirations.

You will manage your own caseload of single people and childless couples threatened with homelessness, working closely with multiple internal and external services to alleviate homelessness and provide positive housing outcomes. This role offers varied and comprehensive development opportunities within a transformative council environment focused on community wellbeing.

The successful candidate will be motivated, caring, and passionate about supporting individuals with unstable or short-term housing histories. You will play a key role in delivering sustainable housing solutions and improving the health and wellbeing of vulnerable residents.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience working with vulnerable individuals, particularly those with a history of homelessness or unstable housing. Experience managing a caseload and delivering person-centred support is essential.

You are empathetic, motivated, and naturally caring with a passion for helping people sustain their tenancies. You are solutions-oriented, forward-thinking, and creative in your approach. Excellent communication skills are required to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and to explain complex information clearly. You are able to work under pressure, manage a busy workload, prioritise effectively, and maintain high standards of customer care. Organisation, flexibility, and an innovative mindset are key attributes for success in this role.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in housing, social work, or a related field are desirable but not explicitly stated. A commitment to ongoing professional development will be supported.
