About the Role
Are you a dynamic, creative, and delivery-focused highways engineering or transport planning professional? Tetra Tech is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our Development Management Implementation (DMI) Team, supporting Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) under a long-term Professional Services Contract. This exciting role involves providing technical support within the DMI service function and assisting other areas within the Council’s Highways ‘One Service’. You will work alongside a team of around 20 staff members and have the opportunity to develop your skills through mentoring from senior colleagues. The role offers flexibility with a hybrid office and remote working approach if desired. This is a challenging and rewarding position where you will contribute to the delivery of highways and transport professional services, supporting scheme development and planning application processes.

Experience
- Some experience in highway design or transport planning, supporting scheme development for public sector or developers
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD
- Beneficial experience in preparing or reviewing Transport Assessments and other transport/highways documents for planning applications
- Beneficial experience providing pre-application advice to developers on transport and highways matters

About you
An enthusiastic and diligent individual who enjoys a challenge and is eager to learn. You should have strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a proven ability to deliver work on time.

Qualifications
A qualified professional with HNC, HND, Degree, or Masters in a relevant subject such as civil engineering or transport planning. Membership of a professional body such as ICE or CIHT is desirable.
