An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and creative Tutor, to join our Supported Internship programme. The role is permanent on a part time (22.5 hours per week) basis in London. Working days will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You will have the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team. You will help young people with a learning disability, learning difficulty and/or autism access the world of work. As a Tutor on Mencap's Internship programme you will teach English and Maths by embedding it into lessons about employability. You will also teach further life skills that will have a direct impact on the way your learners interact with their wider community. As a Tutor you will focus on thedelivery of the educational element of Supported Internships programmes. You will work closely with a group of Skills Coaches to provide holistic support in finding paid employment. As a Tutor you will deliver elements of teaching, learning and assessment to learners including accredited functional skills in both English and Mathematics. (essential): - Experience of supporting people - Experience of delivering against targets - Experience of working with a diverse group of learners - A-C/9-4 English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent) - Recognised teaching qualification at level 5 (DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd) - Knowledge and experience of delivering and assessing functional skills English and Maths up to level 2 - Experience & knowledge of safe working practices - Good classroom management skills and strategies - Good time management and planning skills Please see the Job Description for full role requirements.
