We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager (RMN) who can lead, inspire and oversee the delivery of the very best care at Cygnet Churchill.
Juniper Court at Cygnet Churchill is a 17-bed male mental health acute service providing a safe and stabilising environment for men experiencing an acute episode of mental illness requiring emergency admission.
Cygnet Churchill, located in South London, is an inpatient mental health hospital for men with four wards including two emergency acute admissions services (Juniper Court and Palm Court) and two high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) services (Elm Court and Mulberry Court).
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Providing suggestions, proposals and recommendations to the Hospital Manager aimed at the continued development of the ward
- Contributing and participating in planned visits to the ward by professional visitors
- Initiating and maintaining a monitoring system related to professional nursing practice at unit level, including PIN numbers and current registration of all qualified staff
- Ensuring that the evaluation of service delivery is user-based (patients, carers and families)
- Advising non-clinical staff within the hospital on management of patients with mental illness
- Ensuring patients’ rights to confidentiality are respected and that Cygnet Health Care and professional policies are adhered to
Experience
- Experience working in an inpatient mental health setting
- Proven ability to manage change, lead initiatives, motivate and develop others

- Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following up and ensuring completion of action plans
- Well-informed of the Mental Health Act and the latest nursing practices
- Focused on patient recovery with the ability to monitor, manage and reduce risk
Qualifications
- Registered Mental Nurse (RMN)
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check
