Hours
Full Time with option for compressed hours working. Part-time working is also suitable with a minimum of 4 days / 28 hours per week due to business requirements. The role requires on-site attendance five days a week with no remote, compressed hours or hybrid working available. The team operates Monday to Thursday 07:00–19:00 and Friday 09:00–17:00 on a rotating shift pattern. Shifts are typically 07:00–15:00 (early) and 11:00–19:00 (late), with shift and on-call rota participation expected after training and role competency.
Salary
£38,991 per annum plus Shift Disturbance Allowance of £3,547 per annum
About the Role
The Home Office Warrantry team plays a critical role in national security by considering applications from the Security Service and law enforcement agencies for warrants authorising intrusive investigative techniques. As a Caseworker, you will assess complex intelligence and evidential material, scrutinise applications to ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements, and prepare advice for the Home Secretary on necessity, proportionality and operational impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of national security, intelligence and law enforcement, handling sensitive and high-profile cases that directly impact the security of the UK. You will collaborate closely with government partners, senior officials and operational agencies within a fast-paced operational environment, supporting the effective delivery of the Warrantry function. Participation in shift and out-of-hours on-call rotas is required, reflecting the operational nature of the role. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, personal travel restrictions may apply.
Experience
- Experience of making evidence-based decisions on complex issues using sound judgement, critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely to a range of audiences including senior stakeholders.
- Effective organisational, prioritisation and time management skills to deliver accurate outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Desirable: Experience of working in an operational environment.

Qualifications
Hold, or be willing to undergo and successfully obtain, Developed Vetting (DV) clearance before commencing in the role. You must be a UK national. Additional security checks and a basic criminal record check will be required. No specific academic qualifications are mandated, but relevant experience and behaviours aligned to Making Effective Decisions, Delivering at Pace, Communicating and Influencing, and Working Together will be assessed.
