About the Role
The Home Office works to build a safe, fair and prosperous UK through its work on counter-terrorism, policing, crime, drugs policy, immigration and passports. As an Infrastructure Engineer within the Public Cloud Team, you will play a key role in delivering and supporting secure, scalable cloud services across Azure and AWS. Your primary focus will be on identity and access management, account and subscription vending, and automating cloud onboarding processes through Infrastructure as Code. You will collaborate closely with architects, security teams, and delivery teams to develop cloud platform capabilities, improve governance and operational efficiency, and provide reusable solutions that enable secure, scalable cloud service consumption.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and scale the Home Office's public cloud capabilities, working with modern Azure and AWS technologies, driving automation, and managing identity and account vending at enterprise scale. You will face complex technical challenges, collaborate with skilled specialists, and directly influence how secure cloud services are delivered across government.

An Infrastructure Engineer supports and maintains infrastructure solutions and services according to departmental policy and Home Office strategy. You will work within a team to ensure services are delivered and supported as required, liaising with third parties and technical architects to translate designs into operations.

Due to business needs, occasional out-of-hours work may be required, for which additional allowance is paid.
