About the Role
As an Ambulatory Care / Care of Older People Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming and professional service. Your responsibilities will include registering and greeting patients on arrival, answering telephone calls politely and courteously while identifying yourself and the department, and handling queries face to face, by phone, or email. You will manage patient records by ordering notes for admissions and doctors' perusal, ensuring accurate data entry and updating patient and GP details as required. Booking appointments and monitoring team email inboxes to ensure tasks are completed will be key duties. You will identify referrals from various services such as GP, EDDI, ICE, and LAS, ensuring they are booked onto the Careflow system daily. Additional responsibilities include managing office supplies, logging IT issues, maintaining a tidy workstation, and ensuring confidential waste is collected appropriately. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the Careflow EPR computer system to support new and existing users. The role also involves booking and cancelling Patient Transport and Interpreter services, providing administrative support to clinical staff, and promoting the department’s goals within Whittington Health. You will work as an effective and responsible team member, supporting colleagues, contributing to team discussions, and helping to develop and modernise the service.

Requirements

Experience
Previous administrative experience in a healthcare or similar environment is desirable but not explicitly stated. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately is essential.
