About the Role
We’re seeking Area Tenancy Managers to join Brent’s Housing Management Service and help deliver our exciting transformation agenda. Brent is a vibrant London borough, known for its iconic Wembley Stadium and rich cultural diversity. Spanning both inner and outer London, Brent offers a unique and valued community environment shaped by its economic, environmental, ethnic, and social contrasts.
As an Area Tenancy Manager (Housing Officer), you will manage end-to-end tenancies for a designated patch of social tenants. You will provide varied support to Brent residents to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes, acting as the face of the landlord for your area.
This role offers the opportunity to develop detailed knowledge across tenancy management areas including voids, lettings, income and arrears, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and tailored support based on individual tenant needs. With a consistent and smaller patch of properties, you will improve the quality and perception of the Housing Management Service.
You will collaborate with services across the Council to ensure vulnerable tenants access the support they need and that Brent’s estates and homes remain good quality, safe, and secure. You will also uphold the guidelines set out by the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of social housing in compliance with this legislation.
Experience
Experience in housing management or a related field is desirable. Knowledge of local authority statutory and support services related to housing, and awareness of relevant housing legislation and welfare benefits is essential.
About you
You are resilient and thrive in dynamic environments, with excellent customer service skills and empathy for people. You have a clear focus on tenant satisfaction and achieving results. Motivated by improving tenant wellbeing, you contribute positively to your team and service. You work independently, are eager to learn, and committed to making a difference.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in housing or social care are advantageous but not mandatory. Excellent organisational and IT skills are essential to succeed in this role.
