About the Role
Join MUSIC·TEAM, a leading global agency representing prominent artists across all genres for live performance, touring, brand partnerships, and beyond. MUSIC·TEAM is part of THE·TEAM, a global leader operating at the intersection of sports, music, and entertainment with offices in over 70 cities worldwide. As an Assistant Tour Accountant, you will work in a busy music agency environment maintaining first-class accounts for our artists. This role requires a keen eye for accounting and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines. This is a bespoke accounting role focused primarily on ensuring artists are paid within the short timeframes set out in their contracts. You will be part of a team of client accountants, each supporting multiple agents.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile client (artist) accounts using Sage 200 and bespoke booking databases
- Raise statements for artists through bespoke systems
- Raise commission invoices and make payments to artists
- Accurately record multi-currency transactions
- Perform various credit control tasks
- Work directly with agents and their assistants to ensure all funds are accurately accounted for
- Liaise and build relationships with artists, managers, and accountants
- Manage monthly reports of artist account balances and agent commissions
- Stay up to date with FEU, withholding taxes, and VAT regulations
- Allocate payments on CRM and Sage systems
- Handle promoter refunds
- Provide cover during colleague absences
- Perform various ad hoc duties as required
Experience
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Experience with live events and touring accounting
- Good knowledge of accounting software; Sage experience is desirable
