Business Engineering is looking for impact-focused, entrepreneurial engineers ready to bring their ideas and make a difference. We are technology experts who apply our software engineering skills to bring a unique blend of business and technology expertise to ensure our clients succeed. Business Engineers work directly with clients—starting from their challenges and using deep platform expertise to design solutions and help clients integrate with Meta. Our team operates at the intersection of business and innovation, solving real-world business challenges through Meta's platforms and community across many of today's most exciting industries and products, including Video, Commerce, Monetization, Metaverse, Gaming, Creators, AI, Messaging, and more.

You will write scalable production-grade code across Meta's platforms in collaboration with other product engineering teams, learning and building on different tech stacks and languages. The role offers entrepreneurial freedom to create your own opportunities and choose how you make an impact.

Key responsibilities include serving as a trusted technical advisor to Meta's clients, understanding their challenges, helping them integrate with Meta's platforms, and feeding field insights back to Product teams to shape platform capabilities. You will build new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams and cross-functional partners, design and build end-to-end systems and launch-plan strategies, guide workflow changes, and gain consensus from stakeholders while driving toward solutions.

You will maintain effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders, develop long-term strategic plans grounded on business objectives, manage clients during integrations with Meta's platform products to ensure value creation, and build strong working relationships with technical counterparts. Mentoring peers, conducting code reviews, providing constructive feedback, influencing decision-making through data-centric business presentations, and participating in interviewing and onboarding new team members are also part of the role.

Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time is required.

Experience
- Minimum 3 years as a software engineer building and shipping production-quality code
- Experience with open source languages such as PHP, Python, Java, or JavaScript frameworks
- Proven ability to write reliable, scalable, and efficient code with an emphasis on long-term maintainability
- Experience with software design and architecture
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience contributing to open source projects, shared code repositories, and/or personal projects
- Experience working in highly collaborative environments
- Client-facing experience and/or experience communicating to an audience
- Experience contributing to developer and platform documentation
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

About you
Entrepreneurial and impact-focused engineer with strong problem-solving skills and passion for innovation. Able to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams, mentor peers, and influence decision-making through data-driven insights. Comfortable managing client relationships and driving solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
