Business Engineering is looking for impact-focused, entrepreneurial engineers ready to bring their ideas and make a difference. Business Engineers work directly with clients—starting from their challenges and using deep platform expertise to design solutions and help clients integrate with Meta. Our team operates at the intersection of business and innovation, solving real-world business challenges through Meta's platforms and community across many of today's most exciting industries and products, including Video, Commerce, Monetization, Metaverse, Gaming, Creators, AI, Messaging, and more.

You will write scalable production-grade code across Meta's platforms in collaboration with other product engineering teams, learning and building on different tech stacks and languages. The role offers entrepreneurial freedom to create your own opportunities and choose how you make an impact. Our code is designed to engineer and accelerate business growth—rapid growth that maximizes positive impact for our clients and the billions of people using their products and services.

Key responsibilities include serving as a trusted technical advisor to Meta's clients, understanding their challenges, helping them integrate with Meta's platforms, and providing field insights to Product teams. You will build new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams and cross-functional partners, design and build end-to-end systems and launch strategies, guide workflow changes, and gain consensus from stakeholders. You will maintain effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders, develop long-term strategic plans grounded in business objectives, and manage clients during integrations to ensure value creation.

Additional responsibilities include building and managing strong working relationships with technical counterparts, mentoring peers, conducting code reviews, influencing decision-making through data-centric presentations, serving as a subject matter expert, participating in interviewing and onboarding new team members, and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Experience
- 5+ years as a software engineer building and shipping production-quality code
- Experience with open source languages such as PHP, Python, Android, Swift, Java, and JavaScript frameworks
- Proven ability to write reliable, scalable, and efficient code with emphasis on long-term maintainability
- Experience with software design and architecture
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience contributing to open source projects, shared code repositories, and/or personal projects
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience contributing to developer and platform documentation
- Client-facing experience and/or communicating to an audience
- Experience working in highly collaborative environments
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Experience mentoring engineers on technical architecture and system design

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
