About the Role
The Business Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of the DHSC contract for services, ensuring efficient and effective support to the NHS Employers senior leadership team. You will manage and continuously improve systems and processes related to contract management, commissioning, work programmes, deliverables, and performance reporting. Building and maintaining trusted relationships with the DHSC contract manager and team is essential to resolve contractual issues promptly. You will analyse data for DHSC contract reviews and support corporate contracts and business growth by leading tendering processes, pricing, contract management, and governance support. Additionally, you will assist teams with business case production to support organisational growth.
The role also involves providing proactive business administration and project management support to the chief executive and senior leadership team, working closely with the governance team to enhance business management processes. You will ensure accurate, high-quality reports for corporate reporting, monitor budget expenditure, and provide robust financial reporting. Advising on GDPR compliance in collaboration with the data protection officer is a key responsibility.
Risk management is a critical aspect, requiring you to support a robust issues and risk management programme across NHS Employers, providing updates and highlighting risks to delivery. You will work with managers to ensure compliance with corporate policies, including procurement and operational risk management.
Supporting the Chief Executive, you will manage business unit budgets, including planning and forecasting, and line manage team members where appropriate, overseeing recruitment, performance management, and development in line with organisational policies.
Experience
- Proven experience in contract management and business administration.
