Join the Estate Services team at London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) as a Caretaker based at Acton Gardens, North West London. This permanent role is key to maintaining a responsive, customer-focused service for our residents. You will be responsible for maintaining communal areas within blocks and estates, including communal cleaning and grounds maintenance. You will carry out small maintenance repairs as required and liaise directly with residents and contractors, always prioritising health, safety, and security. This role offers excellent benefits including a pension plan with up to 6% double contribution, 28 days annual leave rising to 31 days with length of service plus bank holidays, Westfield Health Cash Plan, non-contributory life assurance, paid volunteering days, lifestyle benefits, and an Employee Assistance Programme. Experience
Experience in carrying out small repair jobs and working effectively both independently and as part of a team is desirable. Trade skills, gardening or DIY experience would be an advantage. A recognised City & Guilds or Bics qualification in cleaning is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
About you
You should be a good communicator, willing to learn new skills as the service evolves, proactive in your daily activities, and aware of safe working practices. You must be self-motivated, able to organise your own time effectively, and possess a good standard of literacy. Basic IT skills are required as you will use a PC for online courses and assessments, which can be learned during the probationary period. Enthusiasm, ambition, and a genuine care for delivering a first-class service to residents are essential.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required to apply. However, possession or ability to obtain a Basic Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate is mandatory to work within the team.
