About the Role
Join our Rent & Service Charge Team at L&Q and play a pivotal role in ensuring excellent housing services for our residents. As Managing Agent Contract Manager, you will be responsible for holding external managing agents and superior landlords to account, ensuring every pound of service charge delivers value for money, every contract withstands scrutiny, and every resident receives the service they deserve. This role offers real influence, high visibility, and tangible impact as you become the trusted expert protecting the interests of L&Q, our residents, and upholding regulatory compliance.
Your key responsibilities will include ensuring fairness and compliance by validating and challenging service charges to meet lease and legislative requirements, driving accountability by holding managing agents and landlords to account for service quality and value, and championing residents by resolving disputes, challenging poor performance, and ensuring transparency.

Experience
Proven expertise in leasehold block management, ideally across large or complex estates.
Strong legal and regulatory knowledge including the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985, Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002, and Leasehold & Freehold Reform Act 2024.
Confidence in challenging service charges, enforcing compliance, and supporting tribunal cases.
About you
Professional credibility ideally with TPI or RICS (or equivalent experience).
Excellent stakeholder and negotiation skills, able to hold external partners accountable at senior levels.
The ability to thrive in a strategic role where law, compliance, and resident outcomes intersect.
Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications or equivalent experience preferred to support credibility and effectiveness in this role.
