Location
Central Family Court, First Avenue House, 42-49 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6NP. Travel across multiple sites including East London Family Court and West London Family Court is required. All Case Progression Officers are expected to work at least two days per week from First Avenue House, High Holborn.
Hours
Full Time - 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment.
Salary
£33,551 per annum, plus a Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme contribution of £9,719.
About the Role
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) supports the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone. The Case Progression Officer plays a key role in managing family cases efficiently and collaboratively, supporting the Family Improvement Plan.
Key responsibilities include managing case progression by working closely with judiciary, HMCTS colleagues, Cafcass, and local authorities; leading the implementation of consistent administrative practices; monitoring performance and recommending improvements; providing advice and statistical data; handling accommodation and customer complaints; applying continuous improvement principles; and deputising for the Delivery Manager when necessary.
The role also involves planning and coordinating staff training and development, maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders, ensuring governance and risk management compliance, and contributing to wider business and assurance plans.
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months at Executive Officer (EO) grade. The role requires flexibility and the ability to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade and responsibility.
Experience
Experience working in an administrative role within a customer-focused environment is essential. Proven ability to self-motivate and collaborate with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders is required.
About you
Excellent communication and organisational skills are necessary. You should be proficient with IT and Microsoft software packages. The ability to lead, manage priorities, and work effectively under pressure is important. You will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
