About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Hounslow’s Adult Quality Assurance, Improvement & Specialist Services as a Community Safeguarding Advisor. Your primary responsibility will be to promote a clear understanding of safeguarding across diverse communities, local businesses, and voluntary sector organisations in an engaging and thoughtful manner. This newly created role works alongside existing safeguarding structures and requires an innovative approach to build new opportunities for collaboration.
You will develop a safeguarding participation approach and action plan, support communities and local businesses in person-centred approaches to managing risk, and gather evidence of positive engagement with individuals who have experienced safeguarding processes. You will contribute to the Directorate service plan by owning responsibilities and targets and act as a key point of contact between the council, local residents, and other stakeholders. The role involves meeting with residents, including home and site visits.
This position sits within the children and adult services directorate and reports to the Hounslow Safeguarding Adults Board Business Manager. You will be part of a diverse and transformative team focused on safeguarding vulnerable adults in the community.
Experience
- Professional background in safeguarding with in-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Significant experience in developing and implementing effective safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Proficient in risk assessment and management principles, including conducting risk assessments and developing safeguarding procedures.
- Experience delivering training and mentoring others on safeguarding issues.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and Customer Relationship Management systems.
