About the Role
The Community Safety Coordinator will provide essential administrative support to the Community Safety Team, also known as the Safer Sutton Partnership. This small, dedicated team is co-located at Sutton Police Station and the Civic Offices and operates within the Targeted Early Help & Integrated Support Service under Sutton Children's Services - People Directorate. The role involves attending meetings both virtually and in person to record minutes, managing invites, agendas, and distributing minutes to ensure smooth communication and coordination across the team and partner organisations. The Community Safety Team works closely with the Metropolitan Police and other partners to enhance safety for residents and visitors within the London Borough of Sutton.

About the Borough
The London Borough of Sutton is located less than 30 minutes by train from Central London, with direct connections to London Victoria and London Bridge. Situated in zone 5 with excellent transport links, Sutton offers award-winning parks and open spaces, low crime rates, affordable housing, and excellent schools. The borough is known for high levels of resident engagement and satisfaction, delivering quality services while addressing financial challenges and involving residents in key local issues and high street developments.
Sutton is investing heavily in the health, wellbeing, and education of its residents and future generations, as outlined in the “Ambitious for Sutton” corporate plan. Home to the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research, Sutton is developing the London Cancer Hub, aiming to become the world’s leading life-science district specialising in cancer research and treatment. This vision is expected to create approximately 13,000 jobs and contribute £1.2 billion annually to the UK economy.
The borough is also focused on regeneration, including new homes and schools, and is committed to supporting vulnerable groups to maintain independence while balancing support and independent living.
The Council is a key player in the South London Partnership, collaborating with four other outer south west London boroughs on strategic growth, regeneration, and investment to improve services and spaces for residents, making Sutton a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
