About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Team Manager with Local Authority experience to join the Adults - Older People and Disability service at an exciting time of transformation. You will lead and manage a team of social workers and social care officers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice that motivates staff to perform at their best. Your role will include embedding and improving performance standards, ensuring high-quality social work consistent with established good practice models, and supporting residents, families, and carers to maintain independence through the Well Newham approach.

You will oversee professional standards, manage risk and performance, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory guidance. The role involves contributing to strategic service development and occasionally covering for the Service Manager. Collaboration with social care, integrated networks, hospital teams, voluntary and community sectors, and other agencies is essential to share best practice and maintain consistency.

Experience
- Proven leadership and management experience within a Local Authority setting
- Demonstrable experience delivering high-quality interventions for residents, families, and carers
- Experience supporting practitioners to implement and embed excellent social work practice
- Strong knowledge of Care Act interventions, Strengths Based Practice, Mental Capacity, Safeguarding Adults, and risk management
- Experience working collaboratively with voluntary, community, faith sectors, and health partners
- Experience delivering and developing training for multi-disciplinary audiences
- Competence in using IT recording systems and data to monitor team activity, support quality assurance, and drive service improvement

You are a registered Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with strong management and leadership skills. You have excellent communication skills and thrive working in multi-disciplinary settings. You are motivated to foster an inclusive, anti-racist environment and support continuous improvement in practice.

Qualifications
Registered Social Worker or Occupational Therapist (OT) qualification is essential.
