About the Role
The AI & Automation team at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is transforming how the organisation operates through Artificial Intelligence, Automation and Intelligent Engineering. We build enterprise-scale AI capabilities that improve service resilience, automate workflows, accelerate engineering productivity and enhance customer outcomes. As a Core AI Engineer, you will play a leading technical role in designing, developing and deploying AI solutions across LSEG. Combining software engineering, machine learning and AI platform expertise, you will turn innovative concepts into production-ready products delivering measurable business value. This hands-on role suits someone passionate about scalable AI systems, solving complex challenges and influencing enterprise AI adoption.

Responsibilities include designing and building AI solutions such as agentic AI workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions and intelligent automation capabilities. You will deliver scalable integrations with large language models (LLMs), microservice platforms, vector databases and enterprise systems. You will lead technical implementation across AI initiatives, define solution architecture, build robust APIs and automation pipelines, and ensure security, scalability, resilience and observability.

Partnering with Product Managers, Data Scientists and Engineering teams, you will support AI platform development, establish monitoring and governance processes, and improve reliability and performance of AI capabilities. You will act as a technical leader, mentor engineers, evaluate emerging AI technologies and provide direction on architecture and engineering practices. Your work will translate business challenges into scalable AI solutions that drive productivity, operational resilience and customer value.

Experience
Extensive software engineering experience delivering production-scale AI or machine learning solutions in enterprise environments. Proven ability to move AI solutions from proof-of-concept to production. Strong understanding of software architecture, engineering standards and operational practices. Experience with Python, LLMs, generative AI, agent frameworks, RAG architectures, API and microservice design, cloud-native development (Azure preferred), CI/CD automation, MLOps, vector databases, data modelling and distributed systems design. Familiarity with AI observability, evaluation and governance frameworks.

Desirable Experience
Experience within financial services or highly regulated environments. Knowledge of Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. Familiarity with Microsoft AI ecosystem, Copilot technologies and Azure AI services.
