About the Role

We’re looking for a Corporate Counsel III to join the Enterprise Legal Team and help shape the future of global commerce. The Corporate Counsel III is responsible for providing high-quality legal advice, policy, and direction to the EMEA Enterprise business with a focus on commercial contract and regulatory work. This role requires seamless collaboration across time zones with Worldpay’s global commercial, legal, and compliance teams. The majority of your time will be dedicated to merchant risk analysis, contract drafting and negotiations, and providing legal advice.
The success of this role depends on your ability to rapidly build personal credibility and ensure effective stakeholder management across the business group. You will provide business-focused legal support to a growing global business through a strong understanding of both legal requirements and commercial implications. Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, liaising with customers, suppliers, and senior management on negotiations and transaction structuring, and contributing to debates and solutions beyond the legal remit.
You will review and advise on the legal status of prospective merchants, particularly those in regulated industries, drive continual improvements in the in-house legal function including legal technologies, and promote consistency in appetite, policy standards, and governance across Worldpay. Additionally, you will deliver bespoke legal training to the business and manage external counsel primarily on regulatory matters.
Experience
Proven ability to provide incisive, reliable, and commercial legal advice and solutions on complex business issues. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills. Experience in building and maintaining business relationships and performing stakeholder management. Broad corporate and commercial legal experience with a solid understanding of contract law.
Interest and experience in payments services regulation and the ability to apply evolving laws to complex commercial structures and products. Proven ability to understand and apply various global laws and regulations for merchant risk analysis. Experience in the payments and financial services industry is desirable.
