About the Role
The multi-Oscar-winning creative Film & Episodic Studio at Framestore collaborates with some of the greatest storytellers in film today. Working closely with directors and producers throughout the filmmaking process, we design, plan, and create stunning visual effects that support their vision and set new standards in cinema. Framestore combines talent and technology to bring life to everything we create, driven by creativity and inspired by the future.
As a Creature FX TD, you will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of dynamic simulations for character-based work, including clothing, hair, muscle, and skin, as well as post-simulation sculpting and finalizing. Your key responsibilities will include creating simulation rigs for characters and creatures, executing shots using these rigs, and delivering finished assets to the Lighting department. You will collaborate closely with Modelling, Rigging, Animation, Lighting, and Groom departments to ensure seamless workflow.
You will also contribute to the development of departmental tools and techniques, meet schedules and deadlines while maintaining the highest standards, and present your work for review to leads, supervisors, and clients, incorporating feedback as required. Ongoing communication with production and leads regarding schedules and deadlines is essential. You will continue to familiarize yourself with new tools, software, data, and related technology, working efficiently both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned shots.

Experience
- Programming or scripting experience
- Modelling and rigging skills and experience
- Good understanding of Houdini and Maya constraints and deformers
- Experience working under a Unix/Linux system environment

- Strong understanding of human and animal anatomy
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
